Welcome Case Manager – Brittnee Smith

Family Promise of Summit County is pleased to welcome Brittnee Smith to its Case Management Team!

Brittnee joined Family Promise of Summit County as an intern in the Fall of 2022 and spent her senior year providing Trauma Informed Care for the families we serve. Brittnee received her Bachelor of Arts in Social Work, Summa Cum Laude, in May 2023. She was named the Outstanding Adult/Nontraditional Learner Award at the University of Akron’s 2023 LIFE Award program and was an active member of the Phi Alpha National Social Work Honor Society during her time at UA.

“Brittnee has proven to be a dedicated learner since she began her internship in August 2022. She is never afraid to ask questions and goes the extra mile to ensure that families have the resources they need to navigate through homelessness and achieve sustainable independence. Brittnee arrives every day with a positive attitude and takes a “whatever-it-takes” approach to achieving the goals of the mission,” said Erica Ward Cherry, Senior Case Manager. “We are thrilled to have Brittnee as an official member of the Family Promise team and look forward to witnessing the amazing work she is capable of.”

Brittnee will continue her focus of providing Trauma Informed case management services and will also work on volunteer initiatives.

Brittnee was born and raised in Akron, Ohio and is thrilled to serve her hometown and help shape a better future for homeless families in this community. She has three beautiful children that drive her to be a hard worker and make the world better place.

Please join us in welcoming Brittnee to the Family Promise team!
